This is mentorship. This is not university, and this is not an online course.
Each Lime Academy program combines practical skills – super-condensed, and immediately applicable – with the wisdom and personalized guidance of incredible performers who’ve done what you want to do. Your program begins with a 1-on-1 session with your mentor to understand your goals. The program then unfolds with a series of five masterclasses, where the mentor will dive deep into various topics, urging you to take action using the new tools you’ve been shown. Follow-up private sessions reinforce the masterclasses, molding the new tools to you and offering you personalized feedback to transform your performance.
Want to take your career to a whole new level? This is how.
• One 30-minute private mentoring session per week
• One 60-minute group masterclass per week

MASTERCLASS BREAKDOWN

Soloing in jazz can be intimidating if you come from a rock or pop background. Let’s learn some ways to easily play some jazz-sounding lines.
-How to sound authentic by using different chromatic approaches and arpeggios
-How to arpeggiate the four most common seventh chords and efficient fingerings
-Chromatic approaches to each of the chord tones
II. Stadium Rock and Pop (Part I) - Less Is More
Guitarists are known to overplay, but here we’ll look at how to be stingy with our notes and use different parameters to make something super simple sound huge.
-Employing sustain, delay and rhythmic vibrato
-Looking into delay times, the advantage of stereo setups, and utilizing your gear
-String muting with both hands
III. Stadium Rock and Pop (Part II) - More Is More
There’s nothing wrong with having a bag of flashy tricks to spice up your solos and wow the crowd.
-Useful and applicable terrifyingly fast patterns to start (or add to) your bag
-Patterns that are easily applied to different modes, even for symmetrical scales
-When in your solo to use this bag of flash!
IV. Melodic Minor Applications
It’s always a good idea to expand your harmonic knowledge and, in the long run, have a bigger bag of tricks to use when soloing.
-How to make your solos sound a little more ‘adult’ and jazzy in a pop context
-Utilizing the Lydian dominant sound on the subdominant chord of a blues
-Utilizing the super Locrian mode for the dominant chord, and other modal concepts
V. Tapping
Tapping is often frowned upon as something from the eighties that should have been left there. Well, I’m of another opinion.
-Learn some neat ways to tap your way through a solo, because, well, tapping
-How to tap seven-note scales as well as symmetrical scales for real scary results
